Prepare your PDF for remediation

A little preparation helps make a remediation project easier to scope, review, and deliver. Start with the most complete version of your document.

Gather the right materials

Keep the source document if you have it, along with the final PDF. Identify the language, page count, meaningful graphics, tables, links, forms, and any scanned pages. Supply the intended reading audience and purpose.

Define the review scope

Record the target requirements, planned publication date, and any acceptance process. Note whether a text alternative, table interpretation, or form instruction requires input from the content owner. Separate urgent files from a larger backlog.

Keep versions recognizable

Use descriptive filenames and retain the original. Our downloads preserve the uploaded name and append a status, so a first pass and a reviewed final file remain easy to identify. Keep the associated review report with each delivered version.

Explore the source guidance

These guides introduce the topic. Agree on the specific document requirements and review scope for your project.
